With over 25 years of dental experience spanning South India, Libya, and Toronto, Dr. Kumaran brings a rare breadth of clinical expertise to every patient. He holds a BDS (1997, Pondicherry) and a Master of Dental Surgery specializing in Oral Pathology, with deep experience in oral surgery, endodontics, and clear aligner orthodontics. Before founding Smiles and More, he served at Gateway Community Health Centre, providing care to underinsured populations — a commitment that still defines his practice philosophy: treating people, not just teeth. A member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, Dr. Kumaran communicates fluently in English, Tamil, Telugu, and basic Hindi.

Dr. Sujatha brings 18 years of dental expertise and an exceptional academic record to Smiles and More. She holds a DDS from the University of Toronto's International Dentist Advanced Placement Program, a Registered Dental Hygienist diploma from George Brown College, and a post-graduate degree in Immunotechnology — in addition to her original dentist degree from Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai (2003). She is the recipient of the Academic Merit Award in Dental Hygiene, the Jay Lowry Award for Orthodontics, and the Dr. Terry Poulos Award of Excellence for Oral Health Assessment. Currently also serving as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Toronto, Dr. Sujatha specializes in periodontal care, esthetic smile treatments, and clear aligner orthodontics. She communicates fluently in English, Tamil, and Hindi.

Vasantha is a cornerstone of the clinical team at Smiles and More, bringing precision, calm, and genuine compassion to every procedure she assists with. As a certified dental assistant, she works closely alongside Dr. Kumaran and Dr. Sujatha — preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, taking dental radiographs, and providing expert chairside support across a wide range of procedures including restorations, extractions, and clear aligner fittings. Her ability to anticipate the needs of both patient and clinician ensures every appointment flows efficiently without sacrificing care or comfort. Vasantha is particularly skilled at putting anxious patients at ease, taking the time to explain each step of a procedure before it happens. She is fully trained in infection control protocols, WHMIS safety standards, and dental radiography, and holds current certification through the Ontario Dental Assistants Association.

Vanthana is the warm and welcoming first point of contact for every patient at Smiles and More — and she sets the tone for the entire visit. As a key member of the front desk team, she manages the full appointment lifecycle: scheduling new and returning patients, sending confirmation reminders, coordinating between the clinical team and the waiting room, and ensuring wait times are minimized without compromising care. Vanthana handles all incoming calls with patience and professionalism, answering questions about services, treatment timelines, and office policies so patients always feel informed before they even arrive. Her sharp organizational skills keep the day-to-day operations of the practice running on time, and her cheerful, approachable manner means patients of all ages — from young children to seniors — feel immediately at home. Vanthana communicates fluently in Tamil and English, making her an invaluable connection point for the practice's diverse patient community.

Dharshana is the administrative backbone of the Smiles and More front office, combining a meticulous eye for detail with a genuine passion for patient service. She oversees the practice's billing operations end-to-end — processing insurance claims, coordinating direct billing with all major providers, following up on outstanding claims, and clearly explaining treatment costs and coverage to patients so there are never any surprises. Dharshana maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with Ontario privacy regulations, ensuring that clinical information is always accessible and secure. She also plays a vital role in onboarding new patients: collecting health histories, verifying insurance eligibility, and walking first-time visitors through what to expect at their appointment. Fluent in Tamil, Sinhala, and English, Dharshana is especially skilled at bridging language barriers that might otherwise make navigating dental care feel overwhelming. Her quiet efficiency and genuine care for every person she assists make her an indispensable part of the team.
